About Zach Evans
Zach Evans is Chief Technology Officer at Xsolis. Location: Nashville Metropolitan Area, United States.
I make the hard technology decisions that most executives avoid—and I've built a 25-year career proving they work. As CTO of PE-backed Xsolis (Brighton Park Capital, Powered Health), I championed the $25M platform transformation that everyone said was too risky. Monolithic to microservices. Legacy infrastructure to cloud-native. 50 facilities to 500+. The result: 10x scale and 5x revenue growth ($15M→$100M). But platform transformation is the easy part. The hard part is what happened in February 2022 when Russia invaded Ukraine and I had 20+ engineers in harm's way. We relocated the entire team across borders while maintaining zero client disruption. That crisis taught me that technology leadership isn't about architecture—it's about values under pressure. My foundation came from 8 years at Fortune 100 HCA Healthcare, where I learned enterprise complexity at scale: - Delivered $240M+ financial impact across 180+ hospitals and 2,000+ sites of care - Led CPOE deployment across 140+ Emergency Departments with $15M+ budget - Navigated physician resistance, corporate politics, and cross-functional complexity - Participated in M&A due diligence for $1B+ hospital acquisitions That enterprise experience prepared me for PE-backed scale, but my entrepreneurial instincts came earlier, building an e-commerce business unit from $0 to $2.5M (175% EBITDA growth). Raising $500K angel funding for a Vanderbilt Medical Center spinout and taking it to acquisition. These early experiences taught me that technology leaders must understand P&Ls, not just platforms. Today, I also serve as: - Technical advisor to Powered Health's investment committee, evaluating portfolio acquisitions - Board member at Nashville Technology Council and Emyra - Speaker at AWS re:Invent, HLTH, ViVE, and industry events What drives me: Technology as competitive advantage. Teams over tools. Measured risk-taking over perfection. Capital efficiency without compromising innovation velocity. If you're scaling a healthcare technology platform, navigating PE value creation, or transforming technical debt into strategic assets, let's connect. I've made the mistakes, learned the lessons, and I'm here to help others avoid the hard path.
