About Tim Williams

Tim Williams is Chief Technology Officer at Golden Entertainment, Inc. Location: Las Vegas Metropolitan Area, United States.

I have worked in gaming and hospitality technology since 1993, starting with properties around the country and moving to Las Vegas in 1997. Since then I have been part of opening and operating some of the most recognized resorts on the Strip. I spent 12 years at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, was on the opening team at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, and served as CIO at Fontainebleau Las Vegas through original construction and the Strip opening. I have also held technology leadership roles at Aliante, Boyd Gaming, and Affinity Gaming. Most recently I was CIO at SAHARA Las Vegas, where my responsibility extended across the broader Meruelo Group portfolio: two casinos, construction, electrical contracting, radio and television, real estate, and food service. In June 2026 I became CTO at Golden Entertainment, which operates seven casinos and roughly 75 taverns in Nevada. The role covers AI strategy and transformation, enterprise technology, and information security across the portfolio, including infrastructure, applications, development, and data. I have been approved three times as a key executive by the Nevada Gaming Control Board. I write for Gaming and Leisure magazine and regularly speak on and moderate industry panels. I am also founder of JGLZ Ventures, where we build and publish consumer apps and content products. Building at small scale keeps me hands-on with the same technology I evaluate at enterprise scale, and I think doing both makes me better at each.
