Vinay K. Bansal is Chief Technology Officer for Cisco's Cybersecurity team responsible for threat detection and response. He leads the strategy, technical direction along with strategic initiatives for the team. Key initiatives includes improving detection leveraging AI/ML, data and detection engineering. He also lead the security architecture for Cisco's various Cloud Hosted Offerings (such as Nimbus, WebEx, Social, Jabber). Previously he was the global security lead for Cisco’s “Web and Application Security Architecture Team”, that focuses on improving security of Cisco’s 2000+ IT Web Applications, databases, mobile services and perform security assessments of external cloud providers. Vinay has 30+ years of industry experience in successfully leading, securing and architecting Cloud and IT solutions. Prior to Cisco, Vinay has worked at various Fortune 500 companies including IBM, ATT, Nokia, Experian, and Plessey Telecom.
