I build AI platforms that ship — taking systems from research to proof of concept to production in weeks, not quarters. As CTO & Technical Co-Founder at zavvie, I architected a patent-pending Agentic AI risk-assessment platform (USPTO App. No. 19/392,303) that operationalizes LLMs with RAG and human-in-the-loop review for transparent, auditable decision-making. That platform powered our market entry, anchored a $3.65M Series A, and remains the company’s core technology asset. Before zavvie, I was Head of Science-Engineering for Alexa Ranking & Arbitration within Amazon's Alexa AI organization, where my teams built the distributed ML platform behind Alexa's science modeling -- increasing training speed 2–11x and cutting modeling costs by more than half -- and I directed the expansion of AWS SageMaker Studio. At AT&T, my organization delivered AI solutions that generated over $500M in client savings and platforms that absorbed transaction growth from 230M to 3.5B per month. My specialty is bringing AI into regulated markets -- fintech, healthcare, telecom -- where innovation has to coexist with compliance, and where transparent, auditable AI is the difference between a demo and a deployed system. Earlier chapters include chief architect for McKesson’s healthcare systems (NLP research in computer-assisted ICD-10 coding, HL7 interoperability) and architecture leadership for UPS.com at massive scale. Beyond building, I advise founders, boards, and academic programs, including the Strategic Artificial Intelligence Program at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. Ph.D. in Computer Science with published research in NLP and Computer Vision.
