As a technical leader focused on innovation and deployment in mission-critical environments at global scale, I’ve dedicated my career to advancing identification, authentication, and anti-counterfeiting technologies. Throughout my professional journey, I’ve had the privilege of building and leading research teams that deliver impactful solutions for central banks, content owners, global brands, and retailers worldwide. As the inventor of over 400 issued patents and numerous publications in content security, digital watermarking, and image processing, I’ve contributed to the development of a patent portfolio ranked in the top 10 for Industry Impact. A defining highlight of my career has been collaborating with research teams, customers, and academic institutions to commercialize digital watermarking technology. Today this innovation plays an integral role in how we consume media and interact with the world, providing security, authenticity, and addressing pressing environmental challenges. My passion for innovation took root during my time at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, which paved the way for my roles at Intel and eventually Digimarc. At Digimarc, I played a key role in driving our IPO and lead a research team that has received numerous awards, including an Emmy Award for Technology & Engineering. I am a frequent speaker at academic and industry conferences and proudly support organizations like MESA. When I’m not pushing the boundaries of technology, you can find me embracing the beauty of the Northwest – exploring the backroads on two wheels or going further afield hiking or kayaking.
