Over 25 years of industry experience in leading/driving design, development and architecture of systems and storage solutions coupled with the communication and business skills to establish strategic alliances critical to the success of those activities. Began at HP working in the kernel of a new proprietary operating system running on a new RISC architecture. Worked across the kernel gaining expertise in multi-processor kernels, IO and system architecture. From there, went to NetFRAME where I took the lead architecture role in developing high availability file server platforms based on Intel processors and a proprietary IO architecture. Came back to HP, continuing work in file servers, focusing on IO, processors and storage, driving standards, alliances and architecture prototyping. Spent the next 10 years consulting, primarily in architecture for networking, storage, IO (PCIe) and servers. For the past seven plus years, I’ve been leading and guiding architecture for client, cloud and enterprise SSD devices, driving towards converged, scalable architectures, with ten granted patents and more than twenty pending. Core technical/leadership competency in Systems Architecture, Storage Architecture, Operating Systems, Networking, Multi-processing, SoC Architecture, Algorithms, Architectural Modeling, ASIC Micro Architecture, Power Management, I/O and Bus architecture, Embedded systems, OLTP, availability, hardware bringup and application design on a variety of hardware architectures. Deep understanding of Intel/AMD/ARM/Tensilica Architecture from hardware (IO, FSB, SATA, SAS, PCIe, NVMe) to kernel architecture. Extensive experience in Windows, Linux and a variety of Embedded systems.
