About Susanna Wreth Holt, PhD
Susanna Wreth Holt, PhD is Chief Technology Officer at OLI. Location: Berkeley, California, United States.
As a customer-focused software engineering executive, I have nearly 30 years of success delivering innovative technology solutions for startups and large companies. I have been excited by the advent of GenAI and its potential, and am continuously looking for ways of applying AI to the problems we are solving. My expertise includes migrating products and services to the cloud, integrating technologies and teams following acquisition, transforming business cultures, and scaling operations. I excel at communicating complex technical ideas to C-suite executives in relatable and compelling ways in order to improve productivity and drive profit and growth. I pride myself on being a high-EQ leader who champions collaboration. I develop teams that operate effectively across cultures and geographies, applying my ability to bring out the best in people and passion for corporate culture and diversity. By living and working in multiple countries, I acquired global business acumen and a multicultural perspective. I have led global teams up to 500 members across China, Singapore, India, Europe, and North America and managed budgets in the hundreds of millions. My Leadership Philosophy Leaders need to make hard decisions and be empathetic with those who don’t agree. Leadership requires courage, as well as choosing to take responsibility for outcomes, whether we control them or not, while owning and learning from mistakes. It is a journey that never ends, and I enjoy the variety and challenges. Having worked with a wide range of people, I now see inclusion as the prerequisite to belonging. My responsibility as a leader is to continue to foster inclusive environments. What Surprises People About Me As a competitive rower, I won several Masters World Rowing Championships, which instilled discipline, commitment, and a continuous improvement mindset. From rowing, I learned how to manage failure and realized that the desire to win is necessary to achieve success.
