About Sunil Amin

Sunil Amin is Chief Technology Officer & Architect for Cisco Secure Threat, Detection and Response at Cisco. Location: Atlanta, Georgia, United States.

I design and build AI-powered security systems — and have been doing so long before it became the hottest space in tech. My career has come full circle. I started as one of the first engineers at a small startup, built and grew with it through a $452M acquisition, and joined the acquiring company where I eventually led architecture and engineering strategy for a $600M portfolio across a globally distributed organization. From scrappy to strategic — I’ve lived every stage of that journey. And now I’m back at the beginning again — in the best possible way. Over the last year I’ve been heads down in a small, focused team building production-grade agentic AI systems for cybersecurity. Not prototypes. Not demos. Real agents, running in production, at global scale. That’s where the industry is heading, and it’s where I’ve always felt most alive — small team, hard problem, building something that didn’t exist before. That full arc — startup builder, Chief Scientist, enterprise architect, strategic leader, and now hands-on AI engineer again — is what I bring to every problem. I know what it takes to go from zero to one, and from one to hundreds of millions in revenue. The thing I care most about right now is what agentic AI can do for security operations — compressing response times, automating threat investigation, and giving defenders leverage they’ve never had before. That’s the space I live in, and the problems I want to keep solving.
