I lead technology, data, and AI for Harris Associates, the investment manager behind the Oakmark Funds, where I sit on the Operating Committee and own the strategy that keeps our investment, trading, and research teams ahead of the market. Over more than 25 years I have built and modernized technology for some of the most respected names in asset management, from Fidelity and Putnam to Harris, at firms ranging from $100 billion to over $1.5 trillion in assets. The throughline has stayed the same throughout: align technology tightly with the business, build teams people want to work on, and lead transformations that actually land rather than stall. Most of my energy right now goes to two things. The first is bringing AI into the firm responsibly. I built Harris's first formal AI governance framework and launched our internal agentic AI platform, so we can adopt these tools with real guardrails instead of chasing hype. The second is leading the technology delivery of our State Street Alpha conversion, a multi-year platform program spanning investment accounting, data, and middle-office operations. Earlier in my career I founded and ran an IT services firm and sold it to a global organization, which still shapes how I think about ownership, accountability, and building things that last. I was named Boston's 2022 CIO of the Year in the Enterprise category (ORBIE Award) and stay active in the fintech community through a few advisory boards. Away from work I am usually behind a camera or in the kitchen, follow the markets closely, and am just starting to explore philosophy.
