Stephen serves as IBM’s Sports CTO and is an IBM Distinguished Engineer who leads the digital delivery of IBM’s Sports and Entertainment partnerships. These partnerships include many of the world’s most recognizable and prestigious sports and entertainment properties. For more than 20 years, Stephen has successfully led and delivered digital experiences for over 250 major event projects. The award-winning work Stephen and his team perform serves as a showcase of IBM’s capabilities and real-world examples of technology in action. Stephen's technology focus areas include all aspects of multi-platform digital delivery and cutting edge digital experiences. Cloud, Security, Artificial Intelligence, Web Analytics, Video Streaming, CDN, DNS, WAF and Media workflow automation are particular areas of interest. Throughout his career, he has innovated continuously and has delivered many first of a kind solutions including the first live video streaming solution for a major sporting event to an iPhone app and the first live video streaming workflow for a major sporting event in 4K. His work has helped lead to over 70 industry awards for IBM and it's partners including a Technology and Engineering Emmy Award and twice making the Fast Company Most Innovate Companies in Sport list. He has also contributed to over 70 patents.
