About Skylar Graika

Skylar Graika is CTO & Co-founder at PATROL 6. Location: Greater Seattle Area, United States.

AI is moving from demo to operating layer. I spend my time building and studying how teams actually use AI when speed, trust, and execution quality matter. At Patrol 6, private security is one proving ground. The bigger pattern is broader: - how agentic workflows change the way teams build - how AI improves decision quality, not just output volume - how communication, abstraction, and verification become leverage - how to turn AI into something operators, managers, and executives can actually trust That lens started before AI became the headline. I co-founded Footmarks, an early connected-devices / retail IoT company selected for the R/GA Connected Devices Accelerator, powered by Techstars, as part of the 2013 Winter cohort in New York. I also serve as Co-Chair of the Washington State University School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) Executive Council after joining the council in 2023, helping connect industry perspective with engineering education and emerging technology strategy. I care about practical AI, not theater. That means: - workflows that reduce friction - systems that make better decisions - automation with clear ownership and rollback - reporting and intelligence that hold up in the real world I write about what actually changes when AI starts doing real work: prompting, guided autonomy, operating models, communication, reliability, and the tradeoffs in between. If you are building, adopting, or scaling AI in your organization, I'm always up for a practical conversation.
