Effective with the merger of State Bank and Trust Company into Cadence Bank, Sheila became the CTO at Cadence Bank. Previously, served as CFO of State Bank and Trust Company from January 1, 2015 to December 31, 2018. Joined State Bank and Trust Company on October1, 2014 after State Bank acquired Bank of Atlanta. Sheila was a founding officer, the Chief Financial Officer and Board member for Bank of Atlanta, a $180 million community bank founded in 2006. Previous banking experience includes various audit, accounting and operations roles at Wachovia, First National Bank of Gainesville, Tucker Federal, and RBC Centura. She has also worked as an independent consultant, providing financial analysis and strategic planning to a variety of community banks. Sheila is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Georgia Society of CPAs. She serves on the Board of Trustees at Toccoa Falls College and serves on the Board of Directors for the Care and Counseling Center of Georgia. Sheila is a graduate of the University of Georgia.
