I'm currently a CTO of a software development company targeting the InsurTech Industry. I’ve been a Vice President of Information Technology with two mid-sized Florida based Property and Casualty insurance carriers. With all these positions I’ve managed a full service IT department that focused on in-house software development. I've been employed with a insurance broker, operating as a Managing General Agency, where we acted as a 3rd party broker between independent insurance agents and Insurance carriers. I have been responsible for implementing over seven different insurance companies into the Florida homeowners insurance market. In all of these roles I've grown information technology teams from startup to enterprise level service. I'm certified as Scrum master in the Agile project management methodologies and consistently apply Kanban and Scrum techniques to control and hold projects accountable. Two of my prior employers have been with publicly traded corporations. I had to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements as well as instituting best practice standards that were reviewed by the respective firm’s internal audit department. I believe in a collaborative approach to building software specifications that allows all be held accountable. Intelligent component design combined with superior unit testing creates reusable and quality results. Combining accountable benchmarks and reusable quality produces inherent “speed to market” results. I have a beyond healthy respect for business continuity. I have been through two real-life corporate disaster scenario's where I've managed emergency office relocations. Most recently led an effort during the pandemic to get 300+ employees offsite and working from home in less than three days. Planning and testing the plan is key in all successful business continuity efforts. My business experience is complimented by my technical experience in DevOps and software development.
