Sasi Manipatruni is a technologist and entrepreneur working across AI hardware, photonics, memory, and quantum devices. He pioneered breakthroughs in silicon photonics, in-memory AI accelerators, and beyond-CMOS computing, including the first 18 GHz silicon micro ring modulators and 50 Gbit/s WDM links that helped establish micro ring photonics for modern AI and GPU interconnect fabrics. He holds over 400 patents spanning computing, materials, and semiconductor systems. Previously at Intel, General Electric, and ETH Zurich, he earned a PhD from Cornell University after graduating at the top of the Electrical Engineering class at Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. He also received executive certification in corporate board governance (Wharton) and engineering leadership (Stanford). As a research director and technology leader, he guided over $1.1B in R&D spanning semiconductor devices, circuits, AI architectures, spintronics, advanced memory, and semiconductor manufacturing systems. He founded the FEINMAN Center for Functional Electronics Integration and Manufacturing with Intel, Berkeley, Cornell, and Thales to advance next-generation energy-efficient computing. He has also advised and led technical diligence for over $500M in investments across AI compute infrastructure, memory, connectivity, advanced packaging, and power delivery. Interested in AI architectures, computing logic, memory systems, silicon photonics, ASICs, lithography, HBM and advanced packaging, quantum devices, and future semiconductor manufacturing.
