About Sarote Tabcum Jr.

Sarote Tabcum Jr. is Chief Technology Officer at Voltron Global. Location: Torrance, California, United States.

Sarote Tabcum Jr. is a technology entrepreneur, engineer, creative, and CEO of VFX Technologies and Partner/ CTO of Voltron Global. I grew up surrounded by computers and electronics, so becoming a technologist was almost inevitable. My father spent more than 40 years at Sony, where he combined deep technical expertise with an entrepreneurial mindset—designing, engineering, and successfully commercializing innovative technology projects on the side. His persistence and hands-on approach shaped my own “can-do” attitude early on. By the early 1990s, I was working as an engineer in TV and film post-production, where I saw firsthand how supercomputer-class VFX systems could elevate small creative shops into true competitors. The challenge was access. These systems often approached $1M in cost, putting them far out of reach for most studios. That realization sparked my first major leap. I sold my home, borrowed money from family members who believed in the vision, and launched my first media and entertainment venture—focused on making high-performance computing accessible through rentals and services. That persistence paid off. Over the years, through multiple companies, we’ve helped countless VFX studios and creative teams deliver major blockbuster films, television projects, and large-scale commercial work using high-performance computing solutions. Today, our clients include leading motion picture studios, Fortune 500 companies, and some of the most talented creative professionals in the industry. At VFX Technologies, we design and engineer advanced high-performance compute systems, and integrated visual hardware solutions for media and entertainment studios supporting next-generation workflows for companies such as Amazon, Netflix and other major platforms. At Voltron Global, my focus is on architecting and engineering Edge HPC infrastructure, custom micro-LED displays, next-generation flight simulation systems, and distributed compute platforms designed to operate where traditional data centers and legacy simulation technologies cannot. Through Pangaea Studios, a Voltron Global company, we are also advancing virtual production and real-time environments, engineering cinematic-grade systems that merge storytelling, immersive displays, and high-performance compute. Across everything I do, my focus remains the same: designing and engineering practical, powerful technology that gives creators, engineers, and organizations access to capabilities once reserved for only the biggest players.
