Organizations don’t struggle because they lack technology. They struggle because the systems behind the business—the processes, the data, the decisions that used to work at a smaller scale—quietly stopped fitting the size of the company running on them. I’ve spent my career on that problem. Not just modernizing systems, but rebuilding the operating model underneath them so organizations become simpler to run as they grow instead of more tangled. Sometimes that meant consolidating fragmented platforms into a single foundation the business could actually see and trust. Other times it meant building AI and automation capabilities from the ground up and proving, within the first year, that they could pay for themselves. I’ve worked in professional services, telecommunications, gaming, and a few other highly regulated businesses, but the challenge has always come back to the same thing: partnering with executive teams on problems that are really business problems wearing a technology costume. Here’s the one thing I’d put on a wall if I put anything on a wall: the best technology is almost invisible. Not flashy, not the center of the story—just quietly doing its job so well that people stop noticing it’s there. That’s the standard I use to judge whether a transformation has truly succeeded. Technology has never interested me for its own sake. What interests me is what it makes possible. Better decisions. Smoother operations. Organizations that don’t outgrow the way they work. That’s what has kept me interested throughout my career, and it’s still the work I enjoy today—helping executive teams modernize what needs it, cut through complexity, and build organizations that become stronger, not more complicated.
