I lead technology for Verisk Claims, which includes Property Restoration Solutions (the Xactware products), Anti-Fraud Analytics (ClaimSearch), Casualty, and our UK and EU Claims businesses. That's roughly 750 engineers, QA, data engineering, DevOps and database staff across the US, Europe and India. I started at Xactware as a developer in 2003 and have held a range of technology and business roles since; from project and product management to running a business unit. That path shaped how I lead technology today. I've been accountable for the product, the code, the operating plan and the technology narrative, and I know how differently the same decision looks from each of those seats. Most of my career has been transformation work: moving Xactware and Claims to the cloud and then making that spend make sense; retiring legacy platforms, including the mainframe; a multi-year modernization of the Xactware stack covering the database layer, centralized services and the Xactimate Online rewrite; standing up our claims technology organization in India; and integrating a series of US and UK/EU acquisitions. More recently that's meant getting AI into products customers actually use. Discovery Navigator and XactAI are a couple examples, working closely with partners like AWS and Anthropic, and being willing to take that story out publicly to customers, investors, partners and the market.
