About Roger Crawfis

Roger Crawfis is CEO / CTO and co-Founder at RxGames. Location: Columbus, Ohio, United States.

I’m a professor, entrepreneur, and technologist working at the forefront of procedural content generation (PCG), game design, and digital health. As CEO/CTO of RxGames, I develop AI-enhanced, sensor-integrated games for neuro-rehabilitation, orthopedic recovery, and fitness—bridging clinical expertise with adaptive gameplay to make therapy more effective and engaging. Our tools support therapists and patients alike, addressing conditions like traumatic brain injury, knee pain, and mobility loss through data-driven, interactive experiences. AI automatically adjusts to each user's capabilities, trigging game mechanics to move your virtual avatar through a game. Fundamental is good software engineering, allowing us to quickly add new games and new exercises. We currently have 50+ games with 60+ exercises, allowing both seated and standing exercises depending on the user's and the Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapists rehab protocol. At The Ohio State University, I lead research in PCG, focusing on how algorithmically generated content can intelligently reason and create game environments, personalize user experiences and improve engagement across domains—from entertainment to healthcare. With 40+ years in software engineering, simulation, and visualization, I bring deep experience in systems thinking, graphics programming, and team leadership. I’m passionate about using game tech for real-world impact, mentoring future innovators, and pushing boundaries at the intersection of AI, design, and well-being. Let’s connect if you’re exploring digital therapeutics, adaptive game design, or research collaborations in interactive technologies.
