I've spent 20+ years leading technology for health insurance payers — including nearly a decade inside the Blue Cross Blue Shield ecosystem at Highmark BCBS of WNY, Consortium Health Plans, and Triple-S/GuideWell, and as past Chair of the BCBS Association CIO Roundtable. Today I serve as Chief Technology Officer at GuideWell, the parent company of Florida Blue, leading a 1,100+ member technology organization. My focus: shifting the enterprise to a cloud-forward posture, building reliable and AI-ready infrastructure, and driving an outsourcing strategy targeting $35M+ in annual savings — all while preparing to assume leadership of all GuideWell subsidiary technology organizations. The through-line of my career is transformation in regulated, high-stakes environments. I've modernized core health-plan platforms (TriZetto FACETS and QNXT), exited a 10-year IT-as-a-Service contract nine months early to save $5M annually, closed and consolidated data centers, achieved HITRUST CSF compliance, and built AI governance from the ground up — including an enterprise AI strategy prioritizing 30 use cases across claims, service, and clinical operations, responsible-AI standards, and an AI Center of Excellence. I lead with a culture-driven, people-first approach. I believe the best technology outcomes come from engaged, accountable teams — I've lifted engagement scores by 20% at two organizations and earned a #12 national ranking in Computerworld's Best Places to Work in IT. Developing the next generation of technology and cybersecurity leaders is the part of the job I care about most. Outside of work, I teach Data & Information Management to MBA students as an Adjunct Professor at Niagara University, have mentored Eagle Scouts with the Boy Scouts of America, and have supported Computers for Children with over 1,000 donated monitors. I serve on the board of AAA Western & Central NY and advise Pager Health. I'm always glad to connect with fellow healthcare technology leaders, board colleagues, and anyone working on responsible AI in regulated industries.
