Previously, Pierre was VP of Engineering at tech unicorn Flexe, and founding CTO of Beacon (www.beacon.com), a supply chain AI startup backed by Bezos, where he led its development from founding to 10 figures and 250+ employees worldwide. Beacon received backing and investment from top tier venture capital as well as the CEOs of Google, Amazon, Salesforce and Uber. Prior to Beacon, he held technology and product management leadership positions at Amazon and Microsoft for 10 years, where he was Head of Software Engineering getting Amazon Logistics off the ground, Head of Platform Engineering and founding engineer for Prime Video Live Sports, and Sr product manager for the launch of Xbox cloud gaming platform. Pierre is a known tech advisor to early stage venture funded startups, as a mentor in Neo's Residency Program (Neo is a leading VC who has backed companies like Cursor, Kalshi, Chai Discovery or Flint since their beginnings), and a Venture Partner at the Allen Institute for AI. Pierre received a PhD in computer engineering from the University of Illinois in 2009. He is the 2020 recipient of the University of Illinois Young Alumni Achievement Award, for delivering high-impact products and outstanding technical leadership in the software engineering industry.
