Mr. Bondurant is Chief Technology Officer and has forty-five years of experience in the development and commercialization of instrumentation and automated inspection systems for the Non-destructive Test (NDT) and Quality Control markets. Example systems include high speed electro-optic measurement systems for production control, automotive hose inspection, automated eddy current inspection systems, magneto-optic NDT systems, ultrasonic systems and laser-based surface mapping systems for thread and tubular components in difficult to access areas. Mr. Bondurant joined QUEST (Qi2) in 1984 and has been either responsible or a key player in the development of many of the systems developed and sold by Qi2. Highlights include the LOTIS QCX Laser Thread Profiler, the ultrasonic InVista and Furnace Tube Inspection Systems used by Quest Integrity as well as the LOTIS QC-20 Hose Measurement system used by all Ford and Chrysler hose suppliers. He was the project manager and principal investigator for Qi2’s EMAT wall loss and crack ILI tools and is assisting with Qi2’s gas coupled UT initiative and the development of a UT based above ground storage Tank inspection system. Design activities include system design, architecture development, analog circuit design, ultrasonic transducer modeling, ultrasonic and EMAT sensor interfaces, software, and data processing algorithm development. He is the inventor on over 20 patents and has been the principal investigator for numerous research and development programs, both commercial and SBIR, and has over 50 publications and reports. He currently serves as a computer engineering program advisor for Digipen Institute of Technology and served as an adjunct instructor. Qi2 was recently purchased by Baker Hughes and now is a part of Quest Integrity, also recently purchased by Baker Hughes.
