I specialize in leading cross-functional teams through complex regulatory landscapes—from DO-178C avionics certification to FDA Class II/III medical device approval—while building systems that protect human lives. My leadership approach centers on giving teams clarity, purpose, and the processes they need to excel, whether building from scratch for a startup or optimizing an established enterprise program. At Garmin, I led systems engineering for the G600 TXi flight display certified under FAA Part 23/27, standardizing alerting schemes still used across their avionics product line. At BrightInsight, I managed full-stack SaMD lifecycles through FDA regulatory pathways. My consulting work supported Blue Origin's BE-4 engine verification and numerous medical device startups navigating design controls. Prior experience includes managing avionics engineering teams for DoD programs at Physical Optics Corporation, program management for medical device development at RBC Medical Innovations, and systems engineering for Virgin Orbit's LauncherOne program. I hold an MBA from Willamette University and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Wichita State, with certification in Commercial Aircraft Safety Assessment and DO-178C design analysis.
