Matt leads product and technology strategy at Salute serving as Chief Technology Officer, where he joined following Salute's acquisition of Northshore. Matt founded Northshore to have a positive impact on the efficiency and sustainability of humankind’s largest machine: the internet. As modern life becomes increasingly dependent on digital infrastructure, both our reliance and the demand for high-performance infrastructure continue to surge. With this growth comes not only opportunity, but also waste and inefficiencies. Every data center, regardless of scale, presents a chance to operate more efficiently and sustainably. Northshore was founded to seize that opportunity. Before founding Northshore, Matt was a key contributor to the Sales Engineering team at Digital Realty, a global leader in data center services. In this role, he applied his deep expertise in data center infrastructure, MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) systems design, and computational fluid dynamics (CFD). His work provided critical technical support and project management across a broad range of customers, including hyperscale, enterprise, and colocation clients. Matt has spent his entire professional career in the digital infrastructure industry. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Santa Clara University, he began his career at Future Facilities (now Cadence), the industry-leading developer of CFD software. There, he led the American engineering team, contributing to a wide array of domestic and international data center projects. Matt runs Northshore while also running after his two kids. In his spare time Matt enjoys an active, family lifestyle. He is a former member of the Santa Clara University Division 1 Baseball program; enjoys golf, kiting, snowboarding and has a passion for travel.
