I believe great buildings don't happen by accident. They happen because great people design, integrate, commission, operate, and improve them. My mission is simple: Building Better Buildings. Developing Better People. That mission began long before my career. I was raised in a family built on service, education, discipline, and hard work. My father served 23 years in the U.S. Navy, retiring as a Master Chief. Using the GI Bill, he earned undergraduate and master's degrees in Mathematics from Arizona State University before becoming a professor. My mother earned her master's degree in English from ASU and taught for more than 30 years. Together, they taught me that knowledge is best when shared, discipline creates opportunity, and leadership is measured by how many people you help. ASU has always been part of my life. My parents, my brother, and I are proud alumni, creating a family legacy I carry with pride. For nearly a decade, I have helped pioneer, develop, and teach ASU's Building Commissioning curriculum in the Del E. Webb School of Construction. Serving as a Faculty Associate is one of the greatest honors of my career and my opportunity to prepare the next generation. For more than 25 years, my career has connected construction, field experience, research, entrepreneurship, technical leadership, industry standards, and education into one commitment to improving building performance. I've experienced our industry from nearly every perspective: builder, researcher, consultant, business owner, educator, standards leader, and executive. At WSP, I led Commissioning and Energy Services across the Western U.S. At Stantec, I served as Global Discipline Lead for Commissioning and Energy Auditing, helping shape commissioning practices across every major building sector. Today, as Partner and CTO of Streamline Automation and Founder of BPV Solutions, parent company of BPV Academy, I advance building performance while developing customized education, mentorship, and practical training grounded in ASHRAE fundamentals and real-world experience. Serving as Chair of ASHRAE Guideline 0.3 for Ongoing Commissioning is one of my proudest achievements and reflects my commitment to advancing our profession. Technical knowledge alone isn't enough. The best professionals communicate, ask better questions, think critically, take ownership, mentor others, and never stop learning. At the end of the day, my career has never been just about buildings. It's about helping people grow, helping teams succeed, and leaving the industry better than I found it.
