I build tech for artists, because I am one :) I'm a pianist, and I spent a few years playing in bands. I loved it! What I didn't love was the business side of live music. You book the venue, sell the tickets, cross your fingers, and hope people actually show up... Eventually I went deep into engineering and machine learning for music technology. The question that kept pulling at me (and still resonates with me even more today) is how intelligent tools could support a musician's judgment instead of replacing it. That question became my research. These days I get to do that research at Universal Audio. As an AI Systems Engineer, I build machine learning models and co-creative tools for professional audio engineers. But the live side of music never left me. Why are artists and venues still guessing at demand before a show is even booked? That question became Linecheck. We're building a way to help assist artist in the financial infrastructure of live events so it works for the people putting them on! Whether it's machine learning for the studio or financial systems for the stage, I'm building the technology I wish I'd had back when I was the one playing those shows...and will get back into in the future :)
