About Leszek Rumak
Leszek Rumak is Chief Technology Officer / VP of Genetics and Anatomic Pathology at SCC Soft Computer. Location: Clearwater, Florida, United States.
CTO / VP, Technology & Product | Healthcare Diagnostics, LIS/LIMS & Genomics I am an experienced senior technology and product executive working in healthcare diagnostics, LIS/LIMS platforms, and genomics, with long experience building, implementing, and supporting regulated, mission-critical software in real laboratory environments. Most of my career has been spent working directly with clinicians, laboratorians, scientists, engineers, and sales teams, translating how laboratories actually operate—particularly in genomics, NGS, HLA, and anatomic pathology—into systems that can scale, integrate, and hold up under regulatory scrutiny. As an executive owner of product and technology, I’ve led work that includes: Owning product and platform strategy end to end, from early sales discovery and clinical workflow analysis through architecture, delivery, validation, and long-term support Modernizing legacy healthcare systems while preserving clinical safety, data integrity, and regulatory expectations Supporting enterprise sales through executive-level product demonstrations and hands-on involvement in complex customer engagements and commercial/scientific tradeshows in the U.S. and globally Building and leading cross-functional teams across product, engineering, implementation, and support, including distributed teams across North America and Europe Establishing development and delivery practices aligned with FDA, CLIA, CAP, and ISO requirements Leading complex integrations with EMR/HIS systems, laboratory instruments, automation lines, and external diagnostic devices In recent years, I’ve also been responsible for the formulation and adoption of AI/ML capabilities within digital pathology and LIS/LIMS-based genomics platforms, with an emphasis on clinical fit, validation, and responsible integration into existing laboratory workflows. I’m known for being hands-on when needed, steady under pressure, and clear in situations where technical, clinical, and commercial priorities collide. My current focus is on platform modernization, advanced diagnostics workflows, and selective advisory work around product strategy and architecture in healthcare and life sciences.
