About Kirill Bogachev
Kirill Bogachev is CTO at Rock Flow Dynamics. Location: Houston, Texas, United States.
We would like to introduce you to a new reservoir simulator from Rock Flow Dynamics called tNavigator. tNavigator was developed by Russian scientists and is a full fledged, interactive, graphical, black oil parallel finite difference reservoir simulator. It takes advantage of Intel's latest thread parallelization for multicore workstations which caught Intel's investment eye, and introduced a new desktop supercomputer paradigm. We recently received an investment from Intel Capital to establish a U.S. presence. In Russia, over 300 licenses have been sold to TNK-BP, GazpromNeft, LUKOIL, Rosneft, Gazprom, and Sinopec in China. For the resource plays, tNavigator offers new technology to allow realistic fracture modeling in full-field models. It treats the hydraulic fractures as part of the well and creates a "virtual" network of perforations in the grid blocks intersected by the assumed fracture surfaces. Microseismic data can help identify these grid blocks and give valuable information on orientation and size and we are working with MicroSeismic Inc. to refine an integrated approach to use their results. This technology has been successfully used for modeling low perm fields and shale reservoirs with massive fracking. Unlike current simulators in use today, tNavigator supports 3D monitoring and user interactivity at run time. By using this, engineers can work on FDPs without lengthy keyword training. A license costs $50k and you can run it on a desktop PC/Linux workstation or an HPC cluster with no penalty charge for the number of cores. tNavigator loads Eclipse-100 models directly and writes output in Eclipse format. We also support formats from CMG and Roxar. We would be pleased to provide you with a brochure describing tNavigator in more detail and to present a demonstration of tNavigator.
