I'm a highly technical senior product engineering executive with a proven record of building best-in-class products and leading high performing, innovative global software teams. I'm deeply passionate about reliability, quality, and security and DevOps principles with a demonstrated ability to build strong customer and partner relationships. My career began as a software engineer working for 4 different venture-backed startup software companies ranging from early to mid stage of which all had successful exits - 3 acquired by larger strategic organizations and an IPO. I was Chief Architect and engineer #1 at the last of those 4 startups, Desktone, which was ultimately acquired by VMware and represented an inflection point in my career to larger scale executive leadership roles. I've leveraged diverse experiences in small, medium, and large software companies to become a technical software executive with the ability to zoom in and work directly with engineers and architects or zoom out and serve a broader strategic cross functional role. I've been particularly successful at bringing the right amount of process and structure at the right times to mature and grow an engineering organization in a collaborative and non-disruptive fashion that results in overall productivity gain and greater business outcomes. I have significant experience on both sides of M&A serving leadership roles pre and post acquisition with specific experience integrating acquired companies, teams, and their products. I've managed teams of varying sizes up to 550+ from all around the world including offshore teams in Eastern Europe, India, and China and nearshore teams in Latin America.
