John Van Horn, MBA is Chief Technology Officer at The Wittern Group. Location: United States.
Product Development and Manufacturing are in my blood. I’ve been in this industry for over 20 years, designing and developing commercial products and delivering solutions to Industrial, Medical, Emergency Services, and Information Technology markets. Current Solutions include Inventory Control and Asset Management Solutions. This did not come by chance as my grandfather owned his own machine shop where he designed and produced molds for government contracts, and my Great-Grandfather designed, manufactured, and sold his own road bike called the “Cole Special.” I started in the design world in the field of Architecture. I was part of several commercial building designs, from Retail stores to shopping centers and concrete sewer piping production facilities. After several years, I moved my focus toward being a product designer for commercial products as a Mechanical Engineer. I wouldn’t consider being a nerd, but I can nerd out about many things, such as Nanotechnology, Robots, Artificial Intelligence, and Automation. Now being customer-facing, I love to work with passionate people who see issues as opportunities and problems as puzzles to solve. I also love projects focused on improving Processes, Reducing Costs, Troubleshooting with Problem-Solving, and customer engagement.
