About Joaquin Ramirez Cisneros

Joaquin Ramirez Cisneros is President and Chief Technology Officer at Technosylva. Location: San Diego, California, United States.

I’ve spent over 30 years combining fire science, software, and fieldwork to help agencies, electric utilities, and communities better understand, plan for, and respond to wildfires. As the Founder and CTO of Technosylva, I lead the development of geospatial decision tools and wildfire analytics used across North America and Europe. My work focuses on building science-based technologies that strengthen resilience, improve coordination, and enable faster decision-making during wildfire and extreme weather events. From real-time climate modeling to predictive risk analysis, I aim to bring clarity and innovation to the most complex fire environments. I served as President of the International Association of Wildland Fire from 2022 to 2023 and Board Member til 2026. I also teach at the University of León, where I lead courses in wildfire technology for the first European MSc in Forest Fires (www.master-fuego.com). My passion is turning complex science into tools that work under pressure, because in fire, every second matters.
