The longer I've been in technology leadership, the less I focus solely on the technology itself. What I enjoy most is solving problems, and I've found that the best technology decisions come from first understanding the business you're trying to serve. I don't view Engineering, Product, Design, Information Security and Corporate Technology as separate disciplines as much as complementary ways of solving the same business problems. Understanding the business is only the beginning. Lasting results come from building organizations that can solve problems long after any individual decision or project is complete. That means hiring great people, giving them the context to understand the business, and trusting them with the ownership to make good decisions. I've learned that curiosity, judgment, and motivation often matter more than checking every box on a job description. My current role spans the entire product lifecycle, allowing me to connect product strategy, design, engineering, information security, and corporate technology around a common understanding of the business. I've found that many of the hardest problems aren't technical—they're alignment problems, and I enjoy helping organizations solve them. Today, a growing part of my role is helping the business navigate emerging technologies—including AI—with the same focus on long-term business value and practical execution. Over the course of my career I've led organizations ranging from small engineering teams to global organizations of more than 250 people, managed technology investments exceeding $50 million annually, and led large-scale technology transformations, including modernizing commerce platforms supporting more than $200 million in annual revenue and video streaming platforms delivering more than 10 million monthly streams. While every project has its own technical challenges, I've found that success almost always comes down to aligning people, process, and technology around a common goal. Although I no longer spend my days designing systems or writing code, staying technically engaged helps me ask better questions, challenge assumptions, and have more meaningful conversations with the people closest to the work. Technology is evolving faster than at any point in my career, and I find that exciting. While the tools continue to change, my approach hasn't. The best outcomes still come from understanding the business, building exceptional organizations, and applying technology thoughtfully to solve meaningful problems. That's what continues to motivate me.
