Most companies talk about AI like it’s a tooling decision. The ones that actually get paid from it treat it like an operating model change. I’ve spent my career at the intersection of engineering, product, operations, and the P&L. I helped grow a vertical software business through scale, led multiple post-acquisition integrations, and ran an AI transformation that produced real savings, not demo-day optics. The work tends to look different on the surface but usually comes down to the same thing: too much coordination overhead, a business that has outgrown the way it operates, or a product that needs better alignment between technical decisions and commercial reality. CTO and GM are the closest labels. In practice, I’m most useful in the seat where technology, operations, and business decisions meet, especially when the company is in the middle of change and needs someone who can make tradeoffs, simplify the system, and keep momentum.
