Most healthcare platforms analyze data after the fact. I built one that thinks in real time. As EVP & CTO at Medecision, a subsidiary of Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC), the largest customer-owned health insurer in the US, I led the complete reinvention of Aerial, the clinical intelligence platform that processes utilization management, care management, and value-based care decisions for 40+ million lives. That's roughly 10% of America's insured population. This wasn't a greenfield build or a bolt-on AI layer. It was a full-stack transformation: taking a legacy on-premise platform that the nation's largest health plans depended on every day, and re-architecting it into a cloud-native, event-driven intelligence engine on Google Cloud, without dropping a single member. We replaced batch processing with real-time clinical event streams. We built FHIR-native interoperability from the ground up. We earned HITRUST certification and a Google Cloud Innovation Award. The result: a platform where clinical events trigger intelligent interventions as they happen, not hours or days later. Prior authorizations, care transitions, risk stratification, quality measures - all operating in real time, at a scale that most health tech companies can only theorize about. Today, I'm channeling everything I learned about healthcare's hardest technology problems into Operon.Cloud, where we're building the next generation of clinical operations infrastructure.
