Eric Bollens is a technology executive whose work spans software, data, infrastructure and applied science. He is CTO at LightBox, where he leads engineering, production operations, business systems, and cybersecurity with a focus on building the connected data, platform and AI foundation that enables LightBox to turn fragmented real estate information into consistent intelligence across the workflows where customers make decisions. First as SVP of Engineering and then as CTO, Mr. Bollens has led LightBox's unification across data, technology, products and organizations across eleven acquisitions. He developed LightBox's Data Platform architecture to unify its data estate through common ingestion, property identity, geospatial, compute and API foundations, then extended the model to shared services, product surfaces, and client experiences. The platform connects 110,000 sources and 24 billion records, supports over 50 billion spatial queries annually and powers data products, APIs, AI solutions and LightBox Live. Mr. Bollens has led LightBox's enterprise AI strategy, achieving more than 80% company-wide and near-universal developer adoption of AI tooling with architecture, review, testing, quality and software-assurance controls. He also leads the shared AI platform spanning CRE-specialized models, evaluation, owned infrastructure, governed tools and agent orchestration. Mr. Bollens has paired technical transformation with organization, product and finance. He has integrated acquired teams, tied engineering capacity and work to strategic initiatives and business segments and introduced quantitative R&D investment and return models. He embedded FinOps and software-capitalization into existing SDLC and project systems, improving visibility and producing multimillion-dollar recurring savings. While leading technology at LightBox, Mr. Bollens remains a hands-on technology leader. His contributions have included foundational components of LightBox Live and LightBox API, AI and agentic-development capabilities and selected architecture and engineering work across critical infrastructure and production operations. Mr. Bollens maintains an active body of work applying data and engineering to environmental risk and decision-making. He is a published author and recognized expert in the field, advises municipal, state and Federal agencies following major disasters, has testified on the environmental impacts of urban wildfires and was recognized by CalEPA for his work in stormwater management.
