As the CTO at Saab. Inc, I lead transformation through strategic adoption of emergent technology's. With over 20 years of experience in research, innovation and product creation I have been very fortunate to have had the chance to study a very diverse set of core engineering problems. The learning never stops. I am very passionate about solving problems that have a positive impact on energy, climate, security and society. I strongly believe that the intelligent combination of classical and modern methods has immense potential, still to be fully realized. I also believe that all meaningful and sustainable discoveries must come from exercising fundamentals. To that end, at Ford research, I developed and implemented a forward looking vision for progressing investigations into ML, Data-Science and Quantum Computing solutions to Science, Engineering and Manufacturing (SEM) problems. I formed and led a group of highly accomplished AI-QC researchers in tackling the next set of AI-ML-QC challenges in diverse SEM areas such as, Computer Vision, NL, Mobility, Material Discovery (Cathode+), PINNs, Clean Environment and Energy efficiency solutions, Causal ML, Explainable and Robust AI, TinyMl, MLOps, large scale Optimization and many more. In my current role at Saab, I focus on leading research driven development of AI/ML enabled Responsible Autonomy and Defense solutions. I lead a team of experts in multimodal sensor fusion, robust self-healing autonomous systems, automatic target recognition and tracking, distributed sensor networks, federated information and learning, intent prediction etc. We leverage both conventional and emergent methods to create robust, responsible, safe, and explainable AI/ML driven products. On a personal note I love staying active , being outdoors and playing sports, my last big athletic exploit was with the US mens team at the Masters Field hockey world-Cup in Australia. I love classic rock, and I am selectively warming up to new music. I dabble in the arts and have a few canvases with experiments in Oil. Occasionally I post.
