About David F Tate

David F Tate is Chief Technology Officer and Neuropsychologist at Valhalla Cell Health. Location: Salt Lake City, Utah, United States.

As a neuropsychologist and Chief Technology Officer at Valhalla Health, I work at the intersection of clinical neuroscience and technology — developing diagnostic and therapeutic tools for traumatic brain injury and concussion, with a particular focus on Service Members and Veterans. My research at the University of Utah School of Medicine uses MRI and neuropsychological assessment to map brain-behavior relationships after TBI, with the goal of identifying better diagnostic markers, prognostic indicators, and treatment targets. The driving question is straightforward: how do we close the gap between what we know about brain injury and what we can actually do for the people living with it? At Valhalla, I translate that research into practice — integrating neuroimaging, cognitive assessment, and emerging therapeutic technologies to improve functional and biological outcomes for patients. I'm particularly interested in how innovations like photobiomodulation and precision neuroimaging can expand what recovery looks like.
