I am fascinated by the success of liquid biopsy in informing and transforming patient care. Analysis of circulating tumor DNA fragments obtained from a simple blood draw can now be used to detect, quantify and characterize cancer - every day, through the testing conducted in our clinical lab we have a chance to detect cancer early, inform patients about potential treatment options, identify response to therapy or relapse of the disease, or detect molecular traces of the residual disease. The data we collect will invariably lead to more complex (and actionable) biomarker signatures and clinical applications. I am humbled to work with a team that is passionate about making liquid biopsy ever more sensitive, precise, robust, and accessible.
