Dante Battocchi is Chief Technical Officer at Elinor Specialty Coatings. Location: Fargo, North Dakota, United States.

I received a doctoral degree in materials engineering from the University of Trento in Trento, Italy, a master’s degree in polymers and coatings ad a PhD in Materials and Nanotechnology from NDSU. I am one of the co-founders of Elinor Coatings, a coating R&D and manufacturing located in Fargo, ND. were we develop and manufacture protective coatings for metals, with a focus on non ferrous alloys, such as Magnesium and Aluminum. I am also an Adjunct Professor in the NDSU Department of Coatings and Polymeric Materials where I lead a research group focused on corrosion and coatings studies for over 20 years. My previous work includes the development and optimization of magnesium-rich primer for chromate-free protection of aluminum alloys, as well as electrochemical analysis and characterization of corrosion events and protective coatings. I published several articles in journals such as Corrosion Science, Journal of Electrochemical Society, Progress in Organic Coatings and numerous conference proceedings. Previously, I served as the Associate Director of the NDSU Center for Surface Protection and as an agent with the Italian State Police.
