About Dan Crowe

Dan Crowe is Chief Technology Officer at Rue Gilt Groupe. Location: New York, New York, United States.

I am a CTO who thrives at the intersection of massive consumer scale and complex enterprise transformation, all powered by technology.  We are now at the dawn of the AI Renaissance. It’s like being a painter in Florence in 1450. A golden age awaits. Big vision and bold leadership are required.  As CTO of Rue Gilt Groupe (RueLaLa, Gilt, Shop Simon), I am leading our AI evolution into an AI-powered agentic e-commerce enterprise. We are transforming our luxury off-price experience through AI-driven personalization, agentic process optimization, and AI-powered decision intelligence. My job is to focus us on the performance levers that really matter, drive scale through enterprise adoption and learning, and ensure effective governance of these powerful technologies. In my career, I have scaled consumer platforms to billions in revenue and and as a management consultant have guided Fortune 100 leaders as they pursued their most important initiatives.  I love new challenges in exciting spaces: -Rue Gilt Groupe (CTO): Architecting the shift to AI-driven member-centric innovation for the leaders in luxury e-commerce. -Wheels Up (CIO/EVP Digital): Created the “Uber of private aviation,” scaling technology to support a 10X revenue growth ($1.2B) and an NYSE IPO. -WeightWatchers (CTO): Led the digital-first transformation of a global wellness icon, delivering its most significant technical innovations in decades. -AutoTrader (CIO/CPO): Scaled a startup into the #1 US automotive marketplace, winning 7 consecutive J.D. Power awards for digital excellence. -IBM GBS: (Global Relationship Partner) Managed the IBM/American Express global relationship and advised senior leadership on navigating high-stakes technology shifts. -Deloitte and Accenture: As a Partner, led critical strategy and transformation efforts, primarily for global financial services clients. My style is to lead from the front, starting with a compelling vision and establishing the key relationships, winning culture and high-performing teams to make it real. This year’s focus is solving the scale gap for enterprise AI, leveraging the success of many pilots and small wins into meaningful transformation. The key success factors, as with every transformation, are strong leadership, trusted business partnerships and effective change management. Even in an AI world, it is the people who determine how far we go.
