Identity is the most important problem in security that most people still think is solved. I'm a Principal Product Manager and Identity Evangelist at Cisco Duo, where I help drive Cisco's push into IAM and Identity Security. My work spans product strategy, engineering architecture, customer and analyst engagement, and hands-on evangelism. I'm as likely to be white boarding an auth flow with engineers as I am demoing our agentic identity vision to a CISO. The identity landscape is shifting fast. The "user" is no longer just a human it's a machine, a service account, an AI agent acting on someone's behalf. I spend my time at that frontier; figuring out how authentication, authorization, and governance need to evolve when agents need identities too. What I Focus On Access Management & Authentication - SSO, passwordless, MFA, federation, passkeys, policy orchestration Identity Governance (IGA) - Access reviews, provisioning/deprovisioning, lifecycle management Agentic AI & Non-Human Identity - Agent lifecycle, MCP, token exchange, authorization policy Identity Security - Identity proofing, credential management, threat detection What I Actually Do Day-to-Day Give industry talks and analyst briefings Run customer and partner meetings Shape engineering architecture decisions Guide the PM team on priorities and insights Build AI-powered tools that make our team faster Evangelize identity - internally and externally I believe the next wave of identity isn't just about who gets access - it's about what gets access, on whose behalf, and under what constraints.
