About Burc Sahinoglu
Burc Sahinoglu is Chief Technology Officer at Owlet Baby Care. Location: CTO & VP Engineering | Platform, Infrastructure & Connected-Device Systems at Scale | Now building at the intersection of hardware, sensors & AI.
I build production systems and the teams that run them. Twenty years of it — as a CTO and VP of Engineering across cloud, connected devices, and safety-critical health products, and now going deep on AI. As CTO at Owlet, I led engineering through its managers across software, hardware, firmware, cloud, data, and AI — running a connected health platform that monitors hundreds of thousands of infants nightly, and taking it from consumer IoT to an FDA-cleared medical device through a public-company transition. Before that, at August Home (smart locks, acquired by ASSA ABLOY), I scaled the engineering org and ran connected-device infrastructure at 99.999% availability across millions of devices. I'm strongest where the work needs both organizational leadership and technical judgment at once: setting architecture, developing managers and senior engineers, derisking large multi-team initiatives, and holding a high bar on reliability and cost as systems scale. Lately I've gone deep on AI. I created LLMLL, a language and verification system where AI writes the code and the compiler proves it against a typed spec — coordinating LLM agents through contracts and compiler feedback instead of ad hoc chat. It's changed how I think about AI-assisted engineering: the goal isn't to replace judgment, it's to make it enforceable. What draws me now is the intersection of hardware, sensors, and AI — bringing two decades of systems and team leadership to what's being built there.
