About Brian Kilinc

Brian Kilinc is CTO/CIO | Cloud Transformation Leader | PE Tech Advisor at Ephesus Gates. Location: Alpharetta, Georgia, United States.

Technology should create enterprise value, not simply keep the lights on. I partner with private equity firms, boards, CEOs, and software companies to evaluate technology organizations, reduce execution risk, and accelerate business value through technology strategy, technical due diligence, AI adoption, and platform modernization. Over the past 25+ years, I've led technology organizations across payments, fintech, SaaS, ERP, and enterprise software companies, serving as CTO, CIO, Enterprise Architect, and engineering executive through multiple private equity ownership cycles. My experience spans the entire investment lifecycle, from evaluating acquisition targets and assessing technology risk to leading post-acquisition transformation, cloud modernization, engineering turnaround, and product execution. I have built and led global engineering organizations of more than 100 professionals across North America, Europe, Asia, and Latin America while partnering with boards, executive teams, investors, and product leaders to align technology investments with growth, scalability, profitability, and customer outcomes. Areas where I help organizations create value include: • Technical Due Diligence and Technology Assessments • Technology Strategy and Executive Advisory • AI Strategy, Governance, and Enterprise Adoption • Fractional CTO and Technology Leadership • Cloud and Platform Modernization (AWS & Azure) • Engineering Organization Transformation • Product Strategy and Delivery Execution • SaaS Architecture and Platform Scalability • Post-Acquisition Integration and Technology Value Creation Throughout my career, I have led large-scale platform modernization initiatives, cloud transformations, engineering operating model improvements, AI adoption programs, payment platform modernization, financial crime technology initiatives, and product organizations supporting enterprise customers worldwide. I combine executive leadership with hands-on technical depth, allowing me to work effectively with boards and investors while also guiding architects, engineering leaders, and product teams through complex transformation initiatives. Whether evaluating a software company before an acquisition, modernizing a mature platform, implementing enterprise AI capabilities, or helping engineering organizations improve execution, my focus remains the same: align technology decisions with measurable business outcomes.
