About Ashwani Mishra

Ashwani Mishra is CTO and Global VP at Parallel Wireless. Location: Washington DC-Baltimore Area, United States.

I've spent 29 years on both sides of the telecom table — as an operator CTO making the buy decisions, and as a vendor CTO building and deploying the solutions. That dual perspective is rare in the US market. As Global CTO at Parallel Wireless (Nashua, NH), I led the OpenRAN and Green-RAN vision — delivering live production deployments across Latin America, the Pacific Islands, and EMEA that outperformed legacy single-vendor architectures on energy efficiency, user experience, and automation KPIs. These weren't pilots — they were full-scale network transformations on real operator infrastructure, including programs supporting US DoD and DoW communications requirements. Before Parallel Wireless, I served as CTO of MTN OpCos, Director/COO at Huawei (WECA region), and CTO at Bharti Airtel — managing $350M+ P&L, leading teams of 1,000+, and shaping national broadband, spectrum, and digital infrastructure strategies across MEA and South Asia, including satellite backhaul and subsea connectivity for remote and mission-critical environments. What makes my profile distinctive is breadth across telecom, satellite, data center, and defense-grade infrastructure: RAN and core programs, satellite/subsea connectivity, data center strategy, digital power, cloud-native infrastructure, and edge computing — the physical and logical layers modern 5G, AI, and government networks depend on. As hyperscalers, satellite operators, and telecom operators converge around edge, AI inference, and resilient multi-orbit connectivity, I bring fluency across all these domains — informed by six years of mission-critical communications leadership in the Indian Air Force. Core areas of expertise: ▸ Open RAN / vRAN / RAN disaggregation — CU/DU/RU, O-RAN Alliance standards ▸ 5G NR, LTE Advanced, Private 5G, network slicing, CBRS ▸ Satellite, subsea, and multi-orbit connectivity (GEO/MEO) for government and remote markets ▸ Data center strategy, cloud-native infrastructure, edge computing, and digital power ▸ OSS/BSS orchestration, AI-driven network automation, cloud-native operations ▸ SD-WAN, FTTH, optical transport, converged network design ▸ Mission-critical and defense communications — DoD/DoW engagement, export control compliance ▸ CAPEX/OPEX optimization, program/PMO governance, large-scale P&L management ▸ ICT policy, spectrum strategy, BEAD/FirstNet program awareness Open to conversations with innovators, operators, and ecosystem builders shaping Open RAN, 5G, satellite connectivity, and intelligent infrastructure across commercial and government markets.
