Asanka Abeysinghe is CTO at WSO2. Location: San Francisco Bay Area, United States.

My purpose is to connect humans and technology by educating the community and helping organizations become agentic. I work on high-level technology strategy, but I still enjoy writing code and staying close to the craft. I share what I learn through articles, blogs, microblogs, screencasts, vlogs, podcasts, talks, and workshops, and I actively mentor brilliant, talented individuals across roles and disciplines. I’m a regular speaker at in-person and virtual events, and I like using simple visuals and stories to make complex ideas tangible. In enterprises, I act as a trusted advisor to digital leaders, focusing on architecture-led transformation. I help teams design and evolve modern, distributed, decentralized, and agentic systems that can scale and adapt. Over more than 20 years in the industry, I’ve designed and implemented large-scale distributed systems, SOA and decentralized architectures, mobile platforms, and integration solutions across multiple industries, including financial services, communications, and other large-scale enterprise environments. My specialization includes application architecture for distributed, decentralized, and agentic systems, plus hands-on software engineering across programming languages, cloud platforms, and operating environments. I see my career as an ongoing experiment in learning who I am and how I can be useful. I’m a discoverer, and I don’t plan to stop.
