My interest and expertise involve the development of microfluidic-based or lab-on-a-chip systems for the miniaturization, automation, and improvement of biological assays. With a background in biomedical and electrical engineering I seek to develop innovative methods and technologies to advance functional assays and reduce overall assay costs. Through the integration of complex systems I seek to increase productivity by reducing reagent consumption, increasing sensitivity, and increasing assay throughput. Currently, I am developing fully-integrated high-throughput high-efficiency droplet microfluidics-based screening systems for mutant screening, environmental screening, and drug screening applications. With a background in biomedical and electrical engineering I have knowledge and skills pertaining to: Bioengineering, Biocompatiblity, Biomechanics, Bioinstrumentation, Bioelectronics, Biofluids, Biomaterials, Polymer Science, Signal Processing, Medical Imaging, Nanotechnology/Nanobiotechnology, Electronics, Sensor Technology, IC MEMS and Semiconductor Fabrication, Thin Films, MEMS, Nanophotonics, and FDA Regulator Affairs While at Texas A&M I have had the luxury of working in the Aggiefab cleanroom facility, learning multiple processing techniques and teaching new users processing methods. Learning and using sreamlined six-sigma lean-launch processing methods early on in my academic career I became a qualified user/super-user and trainer for a variety of instruments including: E-beam deposition, RF sputter, DC sputter, thermal deposition, PECVD, CVD, RIE, DRIE, Photolithography Mask Aligners, Dicing Saw, Optical Profiler, AFM Profiler, Wet-etching Processes, 3D printers, Laser Machining, CNC Machining As a recent PhD graduate I am seeking a position in various biotechnology/electronics sectors including: (Micro)fluidics Engineering, Lab-on-a-Chip systems, Biomems, MEMS, Drug development, Drug discovery, Sample Prep, Sample testing, Functional Assays, Process Engineering, Electronics Fabrication, Bioelectronics Fabrication, Manufacturing, Automation, and Research and Development.
